Canada Express Entry – Candidates Now Apply for Priority Occupation in New Brunswick

The Express Entry candidates who have attended an information session under the New Brunswick immigration authorities and work under a particular priority occupation, can file an application for an enhanced provincial nomination. However, this particular option will be available only on a temporary basis.

The priority occupations list is comprehensive and includes a wide range of health care and IT occupations. In addition, it also exhibits others options such as food services, finance, and retail. New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) offers this opportunity through the Express Entry Labour Market Stream (EELMS).

This stream assists the province of New Brunswick to target eligible foreign nationals in the Express Entry pool. The eligible criteria require that such candidates must meet the experience and skill requirements as directed by the provincial authorities.

The EELMS follows the Expression of Interest (EOI) procedure. The eligible candidates should first register with a view to receive the Invitation to Apply (ITA) for the program. Applicants are successful in receiving 600 additional Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points, can receive an ITA through the draw conducted by the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The temporary intake will be ceased after the draw. Only the EOIs from individuals who work in New Brunswick are acceptable under this program by New Brunswick. However, those individuals who work with a company based in this province can also apply. 

New Brunswick will continue accepting the applications as far as there are seats available through the designated quota. After this, the temporary intake will be put to a halt and the already accepted application will undergo their processing.
